Spirit Play

Spirit Play

Spirit Play is a story-based approach to religious education which invites children to make meaning for themselves.  Drawing from Maria Montessori’s approach to childhood education, Spirit Play reflects Unitarian Universalist values of respect for the worth and dignity of each person, and the free and responsible search for truth and meaning.

Please register for Spirit Play 2022.  Each week, registered families will receive an email reminder with an easy RSVP button included.  In order for us to ensure adequate staffing, please do let us know if your child(ren) will be attending.

Omicron Intersession!

POP Boxes

If/when safety concerns prohibit us from gathering in person, families are encouraged to do Spirit Play at home by checking out one of our  Practicing Our Promises (POP) boxes.  Each box includes a story basket with a script, and several activities for exploring the story’s themes and a UU Promise (principle) associated with it.

To check out a POP box, please visit our RE Library, enter your patron account information, and select the box you want. (If you do not have a patron account, please contact us.)  You’ll receive an email when your materials are ready for pick-up from the covered porch near the Portico.  Please return POP boxes within two weeks, or let us know if you need an extension.

In addition, Spirit Play families are invited to join in some special events throughout the Omicron Intersession:
