UU Campaign for Beacon Center
At the annual congregational meeting on June 8, UUCB members voted unanimously to support a resolution committing UUCB to raising $25,000 toward the Beacon Light the Way Capital Campaign, in addition to the $25,000 that UUCB contributed from the Special Purposes Fund. The Beacon Light the Way Capital Campaign supports the construction of the new Beacon Center that will bring permanent housing, overnight shelter, and a daytime resource center into a single location on Bloomington’s near west side. Community partners will also co-locate at the Center to offer healthcare, mental health services, legal aid, and more. By voting in favor of the resolution, our congregation moved our faith into action and became part of this life-changing initiative.
The resolution commits us to raising $25,000 over five years, although we hope (and anticipate) that we will be able to fulfill our commitment sooner. We will raise the funds through a combination of dedicated fundraising events and contributions from individual members and friends. If you wish to join this effort, you can donate through the UUCB giving page, with Beacon Light the Way Campaign in the dropdown box.
Thank you in advance for joining with us to help make change happen in our community!
