Building Community with Social Activities
*Our building is closed for the time being due to the coronavirus pandemic, and most of our usual church activities are taking place online or being reimagined in other creative ways. No meetings or events are happening in-person at the church right now. Contact our Connections Coordinator, Ann LeDuc, with any questions about the activities listed below!
Goods & Services Auction
A spring fundraiser full of surprising, delicious, and beautiful things and experiences, with lunch and live and silent auctions. This event is usually held on a Sunday afternoon in early May, and in recent years has been all online.
Small group ministry for members and friends. Click here for more information.
Families with Young Children
UU Families with children (12 and younger) gather to connect with each other, have fun, and do social justice projects together. Each month’s activity is organized by a different family.
Monthly potlucks for adults held in participants’ homes, each with different mix of people. Click here to learn more.
Holiday Bazaar Online
This year our annual Holiday Bazaar fundraiser will take place as an online auction from November 19-29, 2021, due to the continuing covid pandemic. Pickup of purchased items will be on December 3 and 4 at the church, by appointment. Learn more at this link:
In non-pandemic times, our splendid Holiday Art Fair and Bazaar happens at the church in early December each year. Over 30 artisans offer their creations for sale, in addition to a Cookie Walk, Gourmet foods, delicious lunch, white elephants, and used books… we look forward to when we can all gather again for this annual tradition.
Ramadan Iftar Celebration
Each year during the holy month of Ramadan, we host our friends from the Bloomington Muslim community as they celebrate and break their fast. Date and details will be posted on the church Facebook page.
UU Hikers meet for hikes of varying lengths and difficulty about once a month. This is a great opportunity to try new hikes and experience nature with a group of other Unitarian Universalists.
UU Men’s Group
Meets for conversation and fellowship every three weeks. Click here to read the UU Men’s Group covenant.
UU Singles Group – A Community of Single Adults
Companionship and fellowship for all women of the church. First Thursday each month at 11:30 a.m. on Zoom. Bring a brown bag lunch and enjoy a wide range of presentations. Click here for more information.
