Preschool Children thrive on consistency, so their classes are offered continuously through the calendar year. This also makes it easy for caregivers to decide the best time for their child to enter preschool. Several natural breaks in the year are often utilized for smooth transitions.
January Intersession
- K-6th grade are in multi-age groups
- utilize a rotation model to rotate through a new specialty each week.
- option for preschool children to participate as their own group at 9:15am service.
- offerings have included: science, drama, art and cooking.
- natural opportunity for younger children to be mentored by older children.
- extends shorter volunteer opportunities to allow more members of the congregation to share their passions.
Spring Semester (February-May)
- traditional classes grouped by grade.
- focus may be on understanding Unitarian Universalist Principles, UU Sources and/or World Religions.
- religious education classes try to connect to the monthly congregational theme to increase opportunities for family discussion during the week.
Summer Religious Education (June & July)
- time to connect with friends and have fun
- single volunteer opportunities for more members of the congregation to be easily be involved
- K-8th grade meet together with activities suitable for all ages.
