March Religious Education

This month we’re exploring the many ways our Unitarian Universalist faith invites us to become “A People of Commitment.” Here are the four “UU commitments” we are focusing on this month. Or as we are calling them, “the four C’s”:

  • Curiosity -The Commitment to Asking Questions
  • Change- The Importance of Keeping an Open Mind
  • Conscience-The Commitment to Individual Conscience & The Value of Each Person
  • Compassion-The Commitment to Seeing the Needs of Others as Your Own

Celebrate the Renewing Power of Spring with these activities for the whole family!

One of the six sources we draw upon as Unitarian Universalists is “Jewish and Christian teachings
which call us to respond to God’s love by loving our neighbors as ourselves.”

Join a Unitarian Universalist practice of Lent.   Lent begins February 17 and ends on April 3rd. Each day, intentionally reflect on the daily word, carry your awareness throughout the day, and capture an image that represents the word for you.  Share your reflections on social media with the hashtag #UU Lent.  On Sundays, reflect on the daily word- embody and enact it in your life. 2021 Photo a Day #UULent

Passover (Pesah) is the most commonly celebrated holiday among Jews and lasts for eight days. This retelling of the “exodus story” (the Hebrews escaping from slavery in Egypt) is often interpreted as a promise of liberation for all who are oppressed.  Pesah acknowledges the universal human yearning for freedom and expresses compassion for all the people in the world who are not free. The Seder is a time of hope and gratitude celebrated with family and friends. It is a time for each person to rededicate themselves to the cause of liberty and justice. Passover begins on the evening of March 27 and ends on the evening of April 4.  More information about Celebrating Passover here.

We are parents ourselves, we know these are challenging times.
We hope to see you virtually and as always, we are just an email or phone call away, please reach out if we can support you!
