Adult Choir

Our fabulous adult choir

The choir is comprised of volunteers, and all are welcome! We sing diverse music from many centuries and cultures, in many languages and styles. The choir not only enriches our spiritual experience with music on Sunday morning but also does important social outreach to the larger community. We performed an MLK program at the state men's maximum security prison in Carlisle for many years; and we have sung for community and church events, such as September 11 memorials, Holocaust memorial services, the AIDS Quilt Display, Habitat for Humanity builds, and even the Mayor's Inaugural. The choir has also twice collaborated in concerts with the Bloomington Symphony Orchestra, singing Faure's Requiem and Thompson's Frostiana, and has commissioned and premiered works by composers Lauren Bernofsky, Cary Boyce, Malcolm Dalglish, Mary Goetze, and many others.

Choir Schedule

The full adult choir rehearses on Thursday evenings, 7:00 - 8:30, from approximately mid-August to the end of May. Childcare is provided for children through age 12. On Sunday mornings, choir members may choose to sing one or both services at their convenience. The first service choir rehearses at 8:30, and the second service choir rehearses at 10:30. A few times a year the entire choir sings special music, often with instrumental ensemble, for both services. In these cases, there is generally a dress rehearsal the day before. Information about the choir's upcoming schedule can be found on the choir wiki page.

Choir Director
