Worship Services

You are invited to Sunday morning worship at 9:00 a.m. or 11:15 a.m. The services are almost identical and each lasts an hour. Dress is casual, and the atmosphere is welcoming. The format varies but see a sample order of service for a typical service. We are served by a ministry team made up of the Reverend Mary Ann Macklin and the Reverend Bill Breeden. Their sermons are based on current events and our Unitarian Universalist principles, and they are liberal in nature. Good music is always a part of our services, from our talented pianist and excellent choir to the numerous special musical guests and events we feature each year.
Services include a focus on children, who remain with their parents during the first 15 minutes of each service for the Children's Moment. A child lights the chalice that is the symbol of our faith, and children choose the selections for the monthly hymn sing.
We hold a number of special services annually, including the spring Flower Communion, the end-of-summer Water Service that combines water brought from our summer activities, and an Age of Reason Service honoring children who have just learned to read. Minister of Religious Education Emily Manvel Leite leads a family worship the first Wednesday evening of the month.
